Snooki, You have spoken words of truth. You are a fucking good person. I have seen how weirdly treated you have been by the media, people that watch Jersey Shore, and a ton of people who DON’T watch Jersey Shore. I’ve heard/seen you been called a ‘whore’…’trash’…’slut’…and ‘a sausage in a dress’…. just to name a few. I think this has to do with the fact that you are not ‘typically’  white. Yr a Chilean girl, adopted into an Italian family from Poughkeepsie, NY….but most people think yr Italian. I’m about to make a semi-ballsy statement here but: The general culture feels it’s easier/ok to rag on Italian/Portuguese/Turkish/Eastern European/Spanish/South American/any combination of heritages/any person who isn’t sure weather to check the [Caucasian} [Hispanic] [Pacific Islander] [Black] or [Other]…talk about narrow boxes…

Once, my brother and I were at a Country Club…the only ones with naturally dark hair. We are at the shitty buffet getting our shitty food, and an older blonde white woman asks my brother “Excuse me, what is this dish made of?” Automatically thinking he was a worker because he wasn’t ‘white enough’ or looked like he ‘belonged’.

[Edit: Just has a convo with someone who has blonde hair, blue eyes, and light skin and they told me that “Well, between you or me, people would think I have a more trustworthy face..” They then realized how fucked up what they just said was.]

This shit exists. I experience it at work, constantly.
